MoveMindfully® Foundation Training offered in April

SIOUX CITY, IA (Feb. 10, 2022)—During the interactive in-person MoveMindfully® Foundation Trainings on April 20 and 21, learn how to integrate simple breathing exercises, yoga-based movement, and social-emotional skill building activities into your environment!

For the MoveMindfully® Foundation Training: Introduction to Mindfulness, Movement, and Social Emotional Learning on April 20, educators, social workers, and related service providers will enhance their understanding of how trauma and stress impact youth and adults. Help youth and adults reduce stress, develop self-regulation, and increase emotional stability.

On April 21, MoveMindfully® Foundation Training: Trauma-Responsive Practices will incorporate knowledge of trauma, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), and mental health diagnoses, so that participants can explore the power of mind-body practices for stress reduction, improved focus, increased cognitive flexibility, and overall well-being. This workshop explores the six domains of complex trauma and how to integrate MoveMindfully strategies into a variety of intervention frameworks. Learn the art of meeting youth where they are at—physically, emotionally, and mentally—by designing interventions to be used individually, as well as in both small and large groups. The prerequisite for this course is MoveMindfully® Foundation Training: Introduction to Mindfulness, Movement and Social Emotional Learning.

Benefits to these trainings include:

  • educators feel confident creating safe, effective learning environments;
  • students build readiness for learning as they feel seen, heard, and supported throughout the day;
  • practitioners maximize their e ectiveness with an accessible mind body toolkit;
  • leaders develop tools and strategies to promote a culture of wellbeing to maximize organizational potential; and
  • families feel supported by and connected to the organizations serving their children.
